Where to Study

Horticulture is the art, science, technology, business, and education of plants. It is the food we eat, the landscapes we live and play in, the environments we thrive in. It is the business of managing and using what we grow, while maintaining the health of our soil, air, and water, and the well-being of our people, our communities, and our world. In short - it's all about plants!

There are hundreds of career pathways, some require advanced training and education; others require certification or on-the-job training.  Use our map resource below to explore all of the available programs. You can sort by locations in the United States and Canada - and by the type of degree/training offered. (Later in 2021, we will be adding in information about the specific courses of study each institution offers (e.g., B.A. in Botany) and you'll then be able to sort by that as well.)

Each sprout on the map contains information on the educational institution and a link to learn more.

Scholarship Opportunities!

Many organizations and businesses offer scholarships to study horticulture, gardening, floriculture, landscape design, urban gardening, and many more options in the world of plants! Some scholarships are for formal education at colleges and universities, others are continuing education and certification programs.
